The Light in the Darkness
In the depths where shadows play,
Where whispers of despair hold sway,
A heavy heart begins to fight,
For even in darkness, there’s a light.
A flicker, a glow, a fragile spark,
In the silence deep, in the consuming dark,
It trembles yet stands, unyielding and alive,
A testament to the will to survive.
The weight of the world, a burdensome cloak,
Each thought like a shackle, each breath like a choke,
But the light in my soul, though often concealed,
Is a promise that slowly my wounds can be healed.
I gather the pieces, the shattered, the torn,
From the ashes of sadness, the self I’ve reborn.
Each struggle a chapter, each tear a release,
In the chaos, I find my own gentle peace.
For the darkness can teach me, if only I see,
That strength lies within, not in running but free.
In accepting the shadows, the fears I can’t fight,
I learn how to cherish that flickering light.
So I rise from the depths, with scars I embrace,
Proof of survival, of strength found in grace.
With each dawning day, I step into the sun,
For the light in the darkness has only begun.
